Content | Believe the Gospel (Mark 1:14-15) God is the Father. He gave the Gospel to the world. This is Jesus Christ. He is the Word (Mk 1:1). While we live our church lives, we assert that we are believers. What is it we believe? (Mt 5:20) If you say you believe unconditionally without even knowing, you cannot become a believer (Mt 23:23). Our faith is faith in the promise. What has God promised us? (Jn 14:1-3) God gave His word and command by His promise, and gave Jesus Christ by appearance (Jn 1:17-18). Jesus is free of David’s descendants (Mt 3:17). From the time He was loved as God’s Son until He was hung on the cross, He lived a public life. In short, this is called the Gospel (Jn 6:53-55). Since Jesus even shed blood in person to make us believe the Gospel, His blood and His merit is the Gospel (1 Cor 1:18). As He promised eternal life to those who believe the Gospel, what must we do to enter eternal life? (Jn 11:25-26) The Holy Spirit guaranteed and sealed this Gospel (2 Cor 1:21-22). ○ Jesus personally conveyed the Gospel, that is, preached about Himself. ○ Since those who believe Jesus are instantly baptized, the Holy Spirit seals them instantly with His guarantee. ○ If you have nothing to believe, you are only religious. Religious people labor to practice ethics and good deeds, but the Gospel gives atonement along with eternal life. ※ Believers do not belong to the world but belong to God, so they follow His word and become people of the Holy Spirit, that is, spiritual people. |
