Content | Driven Out by the Holy Spirit (Mark 1:12-13) God revealed His Son to the world for the sake of His glory (Jn 3:16). He revealed His will, word and love to the Son (1 Jn 4:8-10). The presence, words and deeds of God’s Son revealed and spoke about the will of God (Jn 12:48-50), and showed God’s love (Jn 15:9). Though He was the Son of God, He did not act as He pleased (Mt 16:23), but revealed Himself by the work of the Holy Spirit (Mt 3:11). The Holy Spirit perfects the relationship between the Father and the Son. God wants to perfect His relationship with the Son absolutely by the Holy Spirit (Jn 15:26). While Jesus Christ was on the earth, He was actively watched by the Holy Spirit (Acts 10:38) and led by the Holy Spirit (Mk 1:12). This is the righteousness of the Trinity. God’s righteousness is not partial to one side, but is at the center. The Holy Spirit, the Father and the Son dwell with righteousness (Jn 16:10). This is called ‘impartial justice’. Therefore, opposing the Holy Spirit is opposing the Son, and opposing the Son is opposing the Father (Mt 12:30-33). ○ No matter what happened in Jesus’ public life, the Holy Spirit worked strongly. ○ He could not heal and do miracles without the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit was with Him when He was tempted by the devil. ○ He is the model of our faith life. Faith is by God’s righteousness, the word, and the Holy Spirit. ※ Since we buried the flesh together with all desires by baptism, we obey by being driven out by the Holy Spirit. |
