| Title If you remain in me and my words remain in you... (John 15:7) |
|
In May, 1962, after 40 days of prayer, he returned to Kwangsi, Yesan, where his wife had moved, in order to work in her brethrens dentistry business. About this time the Kwangsi Baptist Church held an outdoor service on Salmok Mt.
While he was following a group of church members, a bright ray of light descended from the sky. The ray of light came nearer and nearer lasting 15 seconds, that very moment, the agonies, desperations and upheavels, which had been so much a part of him, simply disappeared. At the same time the Bible was revealed to him like looking into a clock and was unfolded as a picture. At that moment a verse came across his mind. "If you hold my teaching, you are really my disciples....¡ (John 8:31), "If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given to you." (John 15:7)
By this time he had already read the complete Bible 75 times. He looked up to the word as he did to God, but he did not remain in the word. At once he ran to the outdoor service, volunteered in singing a hymn and witnessed the vision he had experienced on the road.

| Title "I'm healed of my disease!" |
|
That evening after he had seen, "rays of light", he visited a pulmonary tuberculosis patient's house at the invitation of Kwangsi Baptist church's senior pastor. The moment he entered into the room, the patient, who was not able to stand up, suddenly stood up and shouted, "I'm healed of my disease", he was healed perfectly.
From the next day, early in the morning, invitations from other patients' was overflowing. House by house he visited with the church minister, and there occurred signs and wonders. Whatever disease they had, patients stood up suddenly and witnessed that they were healed. A boy, about 15 years old, was in serious condition because of acute appendicitis so his parents carried him on their backs to see him. At the very moment he touched the boy on his stomach, the boy stood up and started to play.
Like the early church, the Kwangsi Baptist church prospered as many were healed of their diseases. The members, including youths and children saw visions and spoke in other tongues.

| Title "Donkey, donkey." |
|
In June, 1962, Ki Dong Kim attended a meeting led by a female minister. She requested that on the last day he would pray and place his hands on people who attended the early morning prayer meetings. He prayed all night long before he prayed and placed his hands on anyone. After the meeting, when he was kneeling on the floor in prayer, he saw a vision in which he caught many fishes. That day, on the road he heard a strange voice saying, "Donkey, donkey!" From then, he determined to become like a humble donkey. 'I'll be a donkey carrying my Lord, a donkey carrying only my Lord on my back and give him the glory!' He immediately went to a brook, picked up a pebble as large as a chestnut and put it in his mouth. For 7 months he put that pebble in his mouth. Because he was determined to live like a donkey, to live without talking about others and to live only praying for the sick. It was then that he began to go by the name, "ShiMuAwn"(Semone), "I see but I don't tell." He was 24 years old. This was the year he got married. It was one month after he saw the light on the mountain road. After this all the sick he prayed for were healed, and there occurred a wonder, a crippled man stood up for himself.

|
In March, 1963, 5 members of Bibong Methodist church, which is located in Bibong-myeon, Cheongyang-goon, Choongnam, came to him and requested that he should lead a revival meeting. By the recommendation of Rev. Kang San Lee, who was overseer of yesan province, he was sent to Bibong church as a deputy minister. There he started his first pastoral duties, and the next day, on March 18th, he had a son, Sung Hyun Kim. There they held 100th day baby contribution service.

That year there was much more rain than any other summer, so they prayed that it would stop raining, but until the first day of meeting it hadn't stopped. All people requested him to delay the mountain meeting, but he decided to hold the meeting as scheduled and urged everyone to come to the mountain. Then marvelously it stopped raining. By the time he arrived at the meeting place, the sky was blue with beautiful clouds. The meeting continued for a week in a clear weather, but in that period it poured rain in the village below.
It was during that meeting, a lady who suffered from leprosy was healed. Many others were healed of their diseases during the sermon, an elderly lady, who were carried there on her daughter-in-law's back, was lying with a quilt by herself, but suddenly she stood up, danced and gave thanks to God. A lady, who was bitten by a pine caterpillar, was healed at the moment he prayed for her, and the second day of that meeting, two leprous men were healed. From that day, hundreds of sick people were healed with just one touch of his handkerchief. During a Sunday sermon, a maid, who suffered mental disease and was physically crippled, was healed as soon as his handkerchief, which was on the altar, was put on her head. | Title Leading church reform |
|
As he ministered throughout the entire country as an evangelist, Rev. Kim contributed to the reform of Korean church. From the time he led tent revival meetings as layman evangelist all over the country in 1960's, he led church reform without a hesitation. For example,
1. He removed black curtains from behind the pulpit.
2. He let men and women sit together.
3. He constructed a chapel without a bell tower.
4. He removed the big altar and put only a bible stand.
5. He rejected authoritarianism and started the layman faith movement.
6. He removed notification of service order from presider's duty.
7. He replaced the long-handled offertory net/basket with simpler offertory bag.
Through these, he positively urged reform of church customs. Remaining conservative to the truth and gospel of the Bible, but he was open-minded about changes in church customs and practices.
