The Lord, Who Walks on the Water (Matthew 14:22-33)
God is an omnipotent God. In order to make the world know that He is living, He sent Jesus Christ to the world (Jn 1:18), thus Jesus is the image of God (2 Co 4:4). When his disciples went a long distance on the sea, he saw their boat battered by the waves and came to them walking on the water (Mk 6:45-52). They said that it was a ghost, but Jesus clearly said, ¡°It is I. Take courage!¡± A ghost has no bones no flesh, whereas Jesus has bones, flesh and blood (Jn 20:27). Here lies our faith because it is a contradiction of nature that a fleshly body walks on the water. However, what we believe and seek is, ¡°Lord! Tell me to come to you on the water¡± (Jn 6:16-21). Hence, only he who advances looking to the Lord (for his help), walks on the water. He who looks to the world may fall into the water, but he who looks solely to the Lord walks on the water.
¡Û The world may be as threatening as the billows of the sea, but he who walks on the water looking solely to the Lord is the believer. Let us look to the Lord alone.
¡Û The world is only threats but the Lord walks on the water. He who looks solely to the Lord overcomes the world.
¡Û Flesh can be hindered by the environment but he who looks to the Lord alone walks on the water.
¡Ø Let us walk on the water. Let us transcend reason as well as common sense and walk on the water.
