The Lord of the New Covenant Is Coming Down
(John 1:1-18)
God loves the Humble one.
He is Jesus Christ.
Although he was formerly in the Father’s bosom,
he did not acknowledge his equality with God (Php 2:6-8)
but lowered himself and became a human,
making himself much lower than angels in heaven.
in order to taste death.
God made known in advance
such will to the world (Heb 1:1-2)
and swore this covenant,
but humans did not believe it.
God established the people of Israel
and made this firm in their hearts
but they despised the one who came at last (Jn 1:11),
for they regarded Jesus as religion
and thus did not recognize him.
After Jesus completed his works,
he ascended heaven and
because he promised to come again (Jn 14:1-3),
this is our faith and hope.
○ Listen to what the Holy Spirit says.
Jesus is coming soon.
This is the gospel.
○ When Jesus comes again,
he does as the Savior for believers,
but the Judge for the cursed.
○ The Lord of the first covenant was born of a virgin,
whereas the One of the new covenant
is coming in clouds.
※ We praise what was already fulfilled
and look forward to what will be fulfilled soon.
Jesus is coming soon.
